Summary:Microzooplankton abundance and biomass and vertical distribution were determined in samples collected during the JOIS cruise aboard the icebreaker CCGS Louis S. St-Laurent in July-August 2011. This expedition, organized by the Woods Hall Oceanographic Institution and the Institute of Ocean Sciences (Victoria, BC), focused on the Beaufort Gyre region of the Arctic OceanÂ’s Canada Basin and also included the Makenzie River estuary and the Beaufort Sea coastal waters.
