Description
Summary:This data set includes data of a GUV-511 radiometer installed at Summit, Greenland. The system has historically been part of the National Science Foundation's Office of Polar Programs Ultraviolet Spectral Irradiance Monitoring Network (UVSIMN) and is now part of the Arctic Observing Network. The instrument measures spectral irradiance at 305, 320, 340, and 380 nm with a bandwidth of approximately 10 nm. It also measures Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR). Several secondary data products are calculated from the instrument's irradiance measurements, including spectral integrals (e.g. UV-B or UV-A), UV dose-rates (e.g. erythemal irradiance, the UV Index, DNA damaging UV), and total ozone. Data from the GUV-511 instrument complement measurements of a collocated SUV-100 spectroradiometer. SUV-100 data are more accurate than GUV-511 data, but GUV-511 data a better time resolution and a better short-term (hours to days) stability than SUV-100 data.
