Description
Summary:Measurements of fine root production to date made during the growing seasons of 2010 and 2011 in plots of a factorial warming x accelerated snowmelt field experiment. Measurements were made using minirhizotrons installed at 45 degrees to the soil surface in August of 2009. Images were captured using a BTC-2 minirhizotron camera system (Bartz Technology Corp., Carpinteria, CA) and analyzed using Rootfly (Clemsen University). Data are expressed as fine root projected area (mm2, length x width) of each root in each 1.3 x 0.9 cm viewing window. Data are separated into roots of Eriophorum vaginatum and all other species combined.
