Summary:Data consists of heights and survival rates of Norway spruce in Finnish Lapland. Seeds were collected from different altitudes (100 – 465 mpy) and planted to several experimental plots in different altitudes (135 - 345 mpy). Aim of this study was to test altitude effect on growth. In total 36 000 seedlings were planted in 1994 on 13 experimental plots. Assessments were made 1994 and 1998. Study was carried out by the Finnish Forest Research Institute (FFRI).
