Summary:Abstract: A Borehole Optical Televiewer (OPTV) uses a conical mirror and scanning electronics to record a continuous 360-degree image of the borehole wall. An inclinometer and magnetometer allow the image to be 'unwrapped' and resented as a rectangular image, which shows the visible features of the wall oriented to magnetic north. This dataset includes both the raw bitmap (bmp) image data from the televiewer, as well as proprietary WellCad format (wcl) files. The WellCad format files contain the inclinometry, orientation, and temperature data in addition to the imagery data. Wellcad files can be viewed with a free wellcad file reader available from https://www.alt.lu/downloads.htm. This dataset includes OPTV logs from each of two seasons, November 2013 and 2014. The logs are of the 760 m deep hole drilled by the RICE project, a NZ-USA partnership.
