Description
Summary:This data set was acquired with a Jumbo Piston Core Sediment Sampler during R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer expedition NBP0101 conducted in 2001 (Chief Scientist: Dr. Amy Leventer, Investigator: Dr. Amy Leventer). This data file is of Microsoft Excel format and includes Quantitative Diatom Assemblage data; counts completed on randomly settled slides (Scherer, R.P., 1994. A new method for the determination of absolute abundance of diatoms and other silt-sized sedimentary particles. Journal of Paleolimnology, 12 (1), 171-178, doi:10.1007/BF00678093). These counts were completed at closely spaced intervals in NBP0101 JPC41, a jumbo piston core from Iceberg Alley, Mac.Robertson Shelf, East Antarctica. Funding was provided by NSF award OPP99-09367.
