Description
Summary:Abstract: Grain size fraction and thermal conductivity every 1 cm along sediment core WGZ-GC-1. Grain sizes below 1 mm diameter were measured with a laser-diffraction particle size analyzer, and grain sizes above 1 mm diameter were wet-sieved and weighed. Thermal conductivity measured using the needle probe method. At the time of core collection, January 2015, the site was located 3 km downstream of the Whillans ice stream Grounding Zone below a 10m seawater cavity of the Ross Ice Shelf.
