Description
Summary:These data are part of the Gulf Watch Alaska (GWA) long term monitoring program, pelagic monitoring component. This dataset contains fish morph data from summer surveys (2012-2015) in Prince William Sound, Alaska, it includes: date, time, latitude, longitude, fishing method, fish common name, total length (mm), fork length (mm), weight (g), and whether or not that fish was saved. Various catch methods were used to obtain fish samples for aerial and hydroacoustic validations, including: modified herring trawl, purse seine, beach seine, gillnet, cast net, dip net, and jig. Fish were measured with a standard ruler with millimeters and weighed with a calibrated Pesola or a Marel M2200 Marine Lab Scale. The catch was identified by a fish biologist and data was compiled in a database then exported into a csv file.
