Description
Summary:The primary objective of the physical oceanography study is to describe spatial and seasonal characteristics of the water masses and circulation in the northeastern Chukchi Sea. Data are collected through instrumentation on the vessel. Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) casts are made at each station. The CTD includes a fluorometer (as an index of chlorophyll biomass) and a transmissometer (as an index of water-column turbidity). Water samples are also collected and analyzed for nutrients and chlorophyll. Another primary instrument, a vessel-mounted Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP), provides an estimate of the water-column current structure and its spatial and temporal variability. This dataset is part of the Pacific Marine Arctic Regional Synthesis (PacMARS) Project. This dataset contains the original csv files, metadata files, and shapefiles in ZIP files.
