Summary:The data represent the specific identifications of various pelagic and planktonic taxa collected during cruises spanning a period of 35 years. The main purpose of the various cruises was to study the depth distribution of species by both day and night, with some more detailed studies on the timing of their diel vertical migrations, and their seasonal distribution. There are c. 94,000 records for c. 2,100 species, and more than 6 million individuals, encompassing 13 taxonomic groups. The database also includes all relevant station data, and some information on wet weight displacement volumes of some taxa. CTD data can be obtained from OBIS.
