Summary: | This dataset contains spatially referenced measurements of vegetation productivity from the MODerate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) over the North Slope Borough, Alaska. Vegetation productivity is represented by the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), and phenology is represented by the NDVI values, rates of change, and dates (as day of year) of the Start Of Season (SOS), Peak Of Season (POS), and End Of Season (EOS), as well as the Season Length (SL) and the Time-Integrated average growing season NDVI (GS NDVI). Data are gridded at daily temporal frequency and 500-meter spatial resolution from 2000 to 2019. The data were collected to study the productivity and seasonality of arctic vegetation communities, and their relation to snow and other climatological factors relevant to caribou abundance, movement and behavior.
