Legacy Organochlorine Pesticides (OCPs) from East Asia to the Arctic Ocean in 2016 and 2017

To provide updated field data on the global fate of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in the high Arctic Ocean region undergoing rapid climate change, 7 legacy OCPs, including 4 hexachlorocyclohexanes (HCHs) and 3 dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethanes (DDTs), in the surface seawater and atmosphere from Ea...

Description
Summary:To provide updated field data on the global fate of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in the high Arctic Ocean region undergoing rapid climate change, 7 legacy OCPs, including 4 hexachlorocyclohexanes (HCHs) and 3 dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethanes (DDTs), in the surface seawater and atmosphere from East Asia to the high Arctic Ocean were investigated during 2 Arctic Research Expedition cruises in 2017 and 2016. Both the atmospheric and surface seawater samples were collected in the situ by the High-volume Solid-phase Extraction method. The sampling transects were along with East Asia, Northwest Pacific Ocean, Bering Sea, Chukchi Sea, and the Arctic Ocean. These data should be the first updated investigation of OCPs along the North Pacific Ocean to the Arctic Ocean transect in the past decade.
