Description
Summary:This data contains representative profiles of 1) temperature variance, 2) velocity variance, and 3) mixing length and along-isopycnal eddy diffusivity in the upper 1400 meter (m) of the ocean in the Beaufort Gyre. Each quantity is estimated at four individual mooring locations, and the average across all moorings is also provided. Observations over 2003-2018 are included so that the estimated properties are generally representative of this 15 year time period and the Beaufort Gyre region. This updates in time and extends in depth the estimate published in Menegello et al. 2017 (G Meneghello, J Marshall, ST Cole, M-L Timmermans, 2017, Observational inferences of lateral eddy diffusivity in the halocline of the Beaufort Gyre, Geophysical Research Letters, 44 (24), 12,331-12,338).
