Description
Summary:Active Layer measurements were taken at each Networked Info-mechanical Systems (NIMS) grid plot in Atqasuk, Alaska throughout the 2015 summer field season. University of Texas, El Paso (UTEP) Systems Ecology Lab's (SEL) Circumpolar Active Layer Monitoring (CALM) depth probe was used to take measurements. Depth was measured on the probe as the distance from frozen active layer to the top surface of the vegetation. If water was present then it was measured to the top of the biomass.
