Description
Summary:This site is the key of the terrestrial observations of the JAMSTEC-IARC Collaboration Study (JICS). Black spruce are the dominant vegetation type below the treeline. They cover 44 percent of the boreal forest in Interior Alaska and are closely associated with permafrost. In this site, meteorological, hydrological, and ecological measurements are conducted to clarify the role of the black spruce forest in the heat, water, and carbon cycles.
