Description
Summary:This dataset reports chemical analysis of water samples collected during the R/V Endeavor cruise EN586 in the Gulf of Mexico from 2016-07-24 to 2016-08-14, at cold-seep and control sites. Measurements include the concentration of dissolved nutrients, dissolved organics and inorganics, cations, anions and dissolved gases acquired from CTD casts. This dataset also includes methane oxidation and bacterial production rates. The R/V Endeavor cruise EN586 objective was to assess the impacts of the Deepwater Horizon blowout on water chemistry on fallout sites and compare these impacts to naturally occurring oil and gas seeps. The cruise was led by chief scientist Dr. Joseph Montoya. Additional information about this cruise can be found in the R2R repository page: http://www.rvdata.us/catalog/EN586.
