Summary: | This study experimentally investigated the effects of lower pH on larval and juvenile blue crabs, Callinectes sapidus, through laboratory experiments. We used a lowered pH of 7.8; the average surface ocean pH predicted by 2100 by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, compared to a control pH of 8.2. Size and mortality were recorded as well as intermolt duration and hardness for the juveniles. |
