Intertidal marsh invertebrates in paired oiled/unoiled sites in coastal Louisiana in Spring and Fall 2013

In Spring and Fall 2013 snails and mussels were collected in three sampling regions in south Louisiana. They were collected by hand from within 0.5 x 0.5 m (0.25 m2) quadrats placed 1 and 10 m from the marsh edge at three transects perpendicular to shore, in oiled-unoiled pairs per region. Sediment...

Description
Summary:In Spring and Fall 2013 snails and mussels were collected in three sampling regions in south Louisiana. They were collected by hand from within 0.5 x 0.5 m (0.25 m2) quadrats placed 1 and 10 m from the marsh edge at three transects perpendicular to shore, in oiled-unoiled pairs per region. Sediment samples were collected at the same time for hydrocarbon analysis. The abundance of these epifaunal organisms was hypothesized to be lower in oiled plots and higher in unoiled plots.
