Description
Summary:These data consists of taut moorings designed for long-duration measurement of temperature/pressure time series in the deep ocean. These data were collected in NW Atlantic (limit-40 W) during the FAME (Fine and Microscale Experiment) and IIWA (Intermediate Internal Wave Array) projects. The data were collected between April 29, 1975 and January 26, 1976 by MIT Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Cambridge, MA using WHOI buoys. The data was submitted by Carl Wunsch and John Dahlen, refer to publication Deep-Sea Research, 1974, vol 21. pp.145 to 154, titled "A Moored Temperature and Pressure Recorder." THE DATA ON TAPES were originally recorded in EBCDIC; temperature measurements are in degrees Celsius and pressure measurements are in decibars.
