Description
Summary:Wave spectra, meteorological, and other data were collected from FIXED PLATFORMS. Data were collected by the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) in support of the Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere (TOGA) project from 01 April 1987 to 29 April 1987. Data were processed by NODC to the standard NODC F191-Meteorology and Wave Spectra format. Full format description is available from the NODC homepage at http://www.noaa.nodc.gov/. Links to digital data are not available at this time. An analog file is available from NODC user services. The F191 format is used to report meteorological data and ocean wave spectra data from NDBO. The format contains seven data record types to: 1) identify the buoy for position, duration, rate of sampling and heading, 2) identify the meteorological parameters, (temperature, pressure, weather, solar radiation, and surface waves), and 3) report time times series frequency, density and resolution of waves. Each record is 120 characters in length, sorted by station and record type.
