Description
Summary:This dataset contains information about continuously operating reference stations (CORS) and the networks that they belong to throughout the Gulf of Mexico region, compiled from responses by network operators. Station information includes the 4-character site ID, location, type of equipment, specifics on communication, and redundancy on power and communication of the station. Network information includes ownership and maintenance of the stations, if any stations are geodetically tied or co-located with a water level observing station, where the data is stored, future expansion or reduction plans, and what the current needs and gaps an operator faces with the network. Stations are continuously being installed, updated and un-installed so this dataset is only a completed snapshot of stations in 2016. This dataset should not be used as a status map of stations in a local area, if status is needed on a specific location, sensor map URLs for each of the networks can be found in the general question answers.
