Description
Summary:The Master Oceanographic Observation Data Set (MOODS), maintained by the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO), Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, is the standard Navy database for oceanographic observations. Data contained in MOODS include observations of thermal and chemical properties of the water column from surface to bottom, the biota and currents in the water column, and the underlying sea floor as collected by oceanographic agencies worldwide. Data was collected between October 4, 1955 and March 30, 1995. 11 ASCII files of MOODS data 148 megabytes collated by Richard D. Enkoji were received by Mr. Doug Hamilton via FTP from Mr. Robert S. Rushton, containing depth/ temperature/ salinity and sound speed profiles.
