Summary:These data is a description of the Bauer-Robinson Numerical Atlas version VIII which contains temperatures for the surface layer for all ocean basins except the Arctic and temperatures and salinities for deep oceans in the Northern Hemisphere from 1928 to 1981. These originators tapes were prepared by Compass systems, Inc. and are currently available online in the current NODC data storage system. Included in the DDF is a reference list of where this data set has been published. These data were collected in association with NSI grants.
