Summary:This accession contains two sets of data collected as part of Integrated Global Ocean Service System project. The data was submitted by Dr. Adolfo J g Villanueva, Servicio de Hidrografia Naval, Secretaria de Marina, Buenos Aires, Argentina. One file contains temperature and salinity data in TESAC format for the south Atlantic Ocean (south 20 degrees) assembled by the Centro Argentino de Datos Oceanograficos for 1975-1993. Data were originally recorded in D-base III; the documentation included describes the record format. Parameters include: cruise number, message number, date, time, position, wind, air temperature, depth, temperature, salinity, and current speed and direction. The second file contains Expendable bathythermograph (XBT) data for the south Atlantic Ocean (south 20 degrees) assembled by the Centro Argentino de Datos Oceanograficos for 1975-1993. Data were originally recorded in D-base III; the documentation included describes the record format. Parameters include: cruise number, message number, date, time, position, wind, air temperature, depth, SST, and water temperature.
