Description
Summary:This data set is a collection of biological, chemical, physical, biogeochemical, ecological, environmental and other data collected from around the world during historical and contemporary periods of biological and chemical oceanographic exploration and research provided by the Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO). The BCO-DMO was created to serve Principal Investigators (PIs) funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Biological and Chemical Oceanography Sections as a location where marine biogeochemical and ecological data and information developed in the course of scientific research can easily be disseminated, protected, and stored for short and intermediate time-frames. The main objective of the BCO-DMO is to support the scientific community through improved accessibility to ocean science data. The BCO-DMO manages existing and new data sets from individual scientific investigators and collaborative groups of investigators, and makes these available via a web portal.
