Description
Summary:This chapter covers the British Intelligence sources picking up various reports surrounding the German naval preparations aimed at Norway. Despite the failure to disrupt the German invasion of Norway, Winston Churchill ignored, or was unaware, of the intelligence failures. He told the War Cabinet to take the chance to apply overwhelming pressure at sea. However, the troops at Narvik were trained but fought in an impossible environment and without proper equipment, so they were captured by ski troops. Churchill took the blame for the fiasco, especially when he attempted to operate the campaign from London with little to vague ideas of the conditions of the environment.
