Description
Summary:SUMMARY A review is presented of the status and care of epileptic patients in northern Norway. Problems related to the geographically isolated position, difficult climatic conditions and thinly distributed population are discussed. The present investigation leads to the conclusion that the reporting and control of patients with epilepsy is not yet fully adequate and has to be intensified, especially in the peripheral districts. Measures to improve this situation are suggested which include a mobile EEG unit, courses for personnel involved in the care of the epileptics and the future establishment of a special centre.
