Summary:The identification of two wild salmonid smolts, suspected to be hybrids between Atlantic salmon ( Salmo salar ) and trout ( S trutta ) on morphological grounds, was confirmed by electrophoretic separation of serum proteins. A third, trout‐like, hybrid was identified in a sample of parr. Hybrids showed presence of both parent types of esterase, prealbumin and transferrin.
