Description
Summary:Abstract Aspects of the synoptic climatology of the Labrador‐Ungava peninsula are investigated with reference to a classification of airflow pattern types, formulated on the basis of synoptic weather maps for November 1956 to February 1958. The winters 1956–57 and 1957–58 exhibit, respectively, marked negative and positive temperature departures and the temperature and precipitation characteristics of the airflow types are discussed for these two seasons. The validity of the airflow categories is statistically tested.
