Description
Summary:Abstract Sea ice clutter was measured using a millimeter wave radar. To determine the sea ice clutter amplitude, we introduce the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC). It is found that the sea ice clutter amplitude obeys the log‐Weibull distribution which was newly proposed by us for both all data and data within the beam width of an antenna. To suppress such clutter, we have applied the log‐Weibull/CFAR procedure to the observed data. It is shown that radar target embedded in sea ice clutter is detected. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
