Proteobacteria / Gammaproteobacteria / Alteromonadales / Alteromonadaceae / Psychromonas Motile Gram‐negative rod‐shaped or oval cells; polar flagellum. Grow at temperatures <22°C . Catalase and oxidase positive. Major quinone Q‐8; major fatty acids are C 14:1 , C 16:0 , and C 16:1 . Facultative anaerobes use carbohydrates for energy for growth. Found in marine or high salinity environments . The mol % G + C of the DNA is : 38.1–43.8.
