Description
Summary:In the recent past, the Journal has printed a book review of the 1918 Flu Epidemic (1990; 59:225) and a progress note on the Spanish Influenza (1998;67:36). Recently, there appeared a short terse notice in the local newspaper that the indomitable Dr. Kristy Duncan has recently received all the necessary permits for exhumation of the 1918 victims buried in the permafrost of Spitsbergen. She has also raised money for an expedition to the island. A group of experts has been collected, and they are due to arrive at the island during the summer of 1998.
