Summary:The objective of this paper is to provide concentrations of certain radionuclides in environmental samples (seafood, seaweed, and sediment) over a long time period (over two decades) to assess the impact upon the surrounding environment of Northern Ireland, from selected sampling locations at Carlingford Lough (North–west Irish Sea), along the coastline at Kilkeel, Ardglass, Ballymacormick, Ballycastle and as far as Portrush (bordering the North Atlantic Ocean) in the north. The concentration activity data have been compiled (where available and appropriate) to assess the time trends from 1990 until the present time. These data give a clearer and broader picture of radionuclide trends in the environment which are not obvious from the annually published technical reports.
