Summary:ABSTRACT. Remarkable differences exist in the consumption of antidiabetic drugs in the Nordic countries. The overall sales vary by a factor of 5 between the country with the lowest consumption, Iceland, and those with the highest consumption, Finland and Sweden. The differences are greater for oral antidiabetics than for insulin. There are also marked differences in the use of the different oral antidiabetic drugs.
