Summary:Abstract This chapter explains the expected total eclipse in the United States in 2024. It details the path and duration of the total solar eclipse across the American region. The totality of the 2024 eclipse first touches Earth south of the equator about halfway between Australia and Mexico. Moreover, the 2024 eclipse is expected to last for more than four minutes above Texas. The final landfall of the 2024 eclipse is Newfoundland as it moves across the island for around three minutes before traversing faster eastward across the Atlantic to fall off the edge of the Earth at sundown before it can reach Europe.
