Moreover, the Faroes and Greenland belong to Denmark, and the Aland Islands to Finland, as regions with considerable self-government. Majority languages of independent states in the area are: Danish in Denmark, Finnish in Finland, Ice landic in Iceland, Norwegian in Norway, and Swedish in Sweden. The language of the Aland Islands is Swedish; the main language in the Faroes is Faroese, and, in Greenland, Inuit.
