Description
Summary:The paper discusses the problem of the damage assessing to indigenous peoples in modern Russia in the context of industrial development in Arctic. Today the important question is the correlation of the indigenous inhabitants’ interests of the Arctic territories (the preservation of culture, traditional nature, etc.) with the objectives of companies-subsoil users. Therefore, the business’ and the indigenous peoples’ of the North cooperation mechanisms are currently researched and implemented in the industrial development of the territory, both at the primary stage of discussion, coordination of projects, and during investment project realization. The results of the social survey of the indigenous peoples made by the authors in Arctic areas are performed and analyzed in the paper. The research aims to improve the damage assessment methodology used in Russia.
