Summary:Abstract Sustainable development goals (SDGs) relevance and ensuring their achievability in conditions increases for special risk zones, which include the Arctic regions of Russia. The directions of sustainable development of such regions are provided by an integrated strategic approach, including the transformation of the region’s economy, the renewal of traditional forms of economic management, taking into account the opportunities that the digital economy and industry innovations provide. The purpose of the article is to assess the quality of sustainable development of the Arctic zone. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were formulated: to identify and analyze regional development indicators for the UN sustainable development goals SDGs; identify and characterize the problems that threaten the sustainable development of the region through the system of risks of achieving the SDGs; to assess the priorities and directions of development approved in strategic documents from the standpoint of increasing its sustainability. The main results of the study included the following: the composition of regional indicators of the SDGs was substantiated, which was supplemented by sectoral indicators of the SDGs using the example of the agro-industrial complex; an expert assessment of the risks of achieving the SDGs by regional indicators was carried out and systematized, dividing risks into social, economic and environmental; clarified the priorities and features of the strategy and state policy for the development of the agro-industrial complex in the Arctic zone, taking into account the priorities and characteristics of the agro-industrial complex development within the framework of the SDGs.
