Summary:Abstract Every aspect of human activities in the Arctic faces a wide range of risks. By the beginning of the XXI century, mankind had recognized a new class of risks, namely the risks associated with anthropogenic climate change, which is more noticeable in the Arctic, where the rate of warming is twice as high as the world average. The global and especially Arctic climate is likely to continue to change, thereby significantly affecting future socio-economic development, biodiversity, ecosystems and human society. In this paper, we consider climate risks associated with socio-economic development of the Russian Arctic, and propose a modelling framework that allows stakeholders to identify and manage climate risks, assess the economic impacts of climate change in the Arctic, and assist in the development of climate change adaptation strategies.
