Description
Summary:Abstract In this paper, an ecological and economic approach is proposed to assess the environmental risks of soil pollution in the Arkhangelsk industrial agglomeration, where the most important indicator of risk is the amount of probable damage. Based on the total content of trace metals in the surface soil layer, the degree of the ecological risk, the probability of further pollution, and the magnitude of the probable damage have been determined. It was found that Arkhangelsk, Severodvinsk and Novodvinsk soils are characterized by a weak degree of ecological risk for most sample plots with the probability of further contamination from 20 to 40%.
