Description
Summary:This chapter examines the sensation of falling. Here, the chapter recounts the persistent fear/desire to fall which had been exacerbated since the vertigo, and how despite this the author insisted on traveling anyway. It details a brief vacation at an Airbnb in Maine during the Coronavirus pandemic as well as childhoods spent playing in a creek and on top of thirty-foot waterfalls. The chapter explores more recent trips to Iceland, the Grand Canyon, and even taking the family dog out for a walk which trigger this sensation of falling time and again, before examining the emotions all this leads to. It concludes that falling had become synonymous with failing, particularly the failure to prevent Jack's death.
