Description
Summary:A technique to determine the sex of the atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) from external features is proposed. A total of 214 individuals caught in July and August 1986 in five rivers in Quebec and at a salt water location have been studied. Overall, the sexual dimorphism of the relative length of the upper jaw bone allowed us to sex the fishes with 88% success.
