Summary: | Moniezia benedini and cysticerci of Taenia ovis krabbei were found during examination of 108 reindeer on Svalbard. Moniezia benedini occurred in calves and only in October. Cysticerci of Taenia ovis krabbei were found only in adult animals (>1 year). In females, the prevalence of T. o. krabbei was highest during summer (100% in August 1981). The overall prevalence in females differed significantly between 1981 and 1982 with mean values of 61% and 29%, respectively. |
