Summary:Five new species of Gyrodactylus, namely Gyrodactylus avalonia, G. canadensis, G. lairdi, G. memorialis, and G. terranovae, are described and figured from Gasterosteus aculeatus Linnaeus, 1758 and Gasterosteus wheatlandi Putnam, 1867 caught in Newfoundland, Canada. This is the first record of a species of Gyrodactylus being recovered from G. wheatlandi.
