Summary:Colostrum and early milk were obtained from a caribou captured in the Beverly Lake area of the Northwest Territories and maintained in captivity at the Wildlife Research Unit of the University of British Columbia. The gross composition of the colostrum and early milk, the amino acid composition of the casein and whey proteins isolated from the early milk, and the fatty acid composition of the early milk were determined.
