Summary:Information is presented on the systematics, distribution, and abundance of the dusky rockfish, Sebastes ciliatus (Tilesius 1810). Morphological description of the taxon is provided, together with a translation into English of the original description. Geographic range is East Kamchatka (USSR) to Dixon Entrance (Canada). Maximum depth of capture in the Gulf of Alaska is 170 fath. Maximum size is 428 mm (17 inches), standard length. Relative abundance is low.
