Description
Summary:Recent examination of type specimens at the Zoological Institute in Leningrad has shown that a previous identification of Anonyx pacificus Gurjanova for the northwest Atlantic is changed to A. makarovi Gurjanova. Anonyx pacificus Gurjanova (in part) and A. kurilicus are considered to be synonyms of A. nugax. Other problems concerning the taxonomy of the eight northwest Atlantic species of Anonyx are discussed.
