Description
Summary:A partial cranium of Ovibos moschatus, the tundra muskox, was recovered near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan from sand and gravel tentatively identified as part of the Floral Formation. Both lithological and paleontological evidence suggest that the sands and gravels were deposited in a periglacial environment. This occurrence is the first report of tundra muskox from Pleistocene deposits on the Canadian Prairies.
