Description
Summary:A new subspecific combination, Silene uralensis subsp. ogilviensis (Porsild) Brunton is proposed for a recently described endemic of the Ogilvie Mountains, Yukon Territory. On the basis of a review of the type material it is compared with other North American subspecies of S. uralensis and with the similar S. gonosperma of Eurasia and found to be intermediate between these two in some characteristics. No additional stations of this rare taxon have been located since its original discovery in 1968.
