Summary: | Claytonia bostockii Porsild (Portulacaceae), an endemic to S.W. Yukon and adjacent parts of Alaska, whose systematic position in the Claytonia/Montia generic complex has not hitherto been examined, is shown to possess the distinctive 'Montiastrum-type' of spiniferously saccate pollen. It is suggested that C. bostockii be referred, along with the closely related C. vassilievii and the less similar C. linearis and C. dichotoma, to Claytonia Section Montiastrum Gray. Distinguishing characters are tabulated. |
